Our Story

A few years ago, I reached a goal I had worked toward for a long time. To celebrate, I bought myself a gorgeous moonstone necklace.

Soft, luminous, and a symbol of my hard work. I wore it every single day.

I also wore it in the shower. One too many times.

If you know anything about moonstone, you know it’s a soft stone. Water and steam can damage it permanently. I didn’t know that until I looked down one day and realized the glow was gone.

I still have it — cloudy, dulled, and impossible to restore.

That Christmas, my husband surprised me with an emerald necklace. Beautiful, meaningful, and this time, I was determined to take care of it.

Every time I step into the shower, I take it off.
Before bed, I take it off.
Before yoga, I take it off.

And every single time, it ended up tangled on my bathroom counter, sitting in the middle of the clutter I was always trying to clear away.

I didn’t want a bulky jewelry stand.
I didn’t want more clutter.
I just wanted one beautiful place for the piece I wore every day.

So I drove to the building supply store and bought a tiny clear suction hook designed for hanging things like sun catchers on windows.

It worked perfectly. It looked absolutely terrible.

I stuck it on my bathroom mirror and used it every single day for over a year. And one morning, I looked at it — really looked at it — suctioned to my bathroom mirror with my emerald necklace hanging from it and thought:

Someone should do better than this.

So I did.
